Not a good end of the day

This morning I called out to Mommy and when she came in to get me I greeted her at the door, standing at the end of my crib. She kissed me good morning and we started our day. Mommy and I played for a little while. When it was time for my normal morning nap time Mommy put me in my swing with my pacifier and little giraffe rattle. It was relaxing to swing back and forth with the vibration and soft music but I didn't go to sleep. I didn't cry either. I just sat there in my swing, back and forth, until Mommy came back from her shower. She took me back out of my swing and then let me fall asleep in her lap.

We played more and Mommy talked on the phone with Keisha (I tried over and over again to take her phone). She got me dressed in an elephant overall outfit. She told me that I looked adorable. Then it was time to get in the car and go to group. I took a quick little cat nap on the way there. Mommy woke me up to go inside. It was rainy today but when we went into group it was just light sprinkles so Mommy didn't carry the umbrella in. There were a bunch of people at group, especially for a rainy day. Hunter, James, Eleanor, Lincoln, Nathan, and two Annas. I went around and said hello to everyone. I weighed in at 15lbs 14.6oz. I lost a little more this week. Mommy said she is going to make me eat more. But while we were there, Mommy did feel that top tooth finally broke through. Now I have three!

After group I feel asleep in the car again. Mommy brought me and the carseat inside and I slept for a long time. When I woke up I was ready to play again. Mommy started dinner and Uncle Sean and Grandma came over for a bit. When I first saw Uncle Sean I didn't remember who he was and started to cry but after looking at him for a little while I remembered and was ok with him holding me and he made me giggle. I had no problem with Grandma. I had big smiles for her. I talked to both of them. Then Mommy and I said goodbye to them.

After that Mommy and I went back to my room, read one of the library books, and got dressed for bed. We came out to the family room and Mommy could tell that I was tired but I kept telling her I didn't want to go to sleep. She kept trying to calm me down but that just made me more and more upset. She and I got into a big fight and after I kept trying to grab her lip and pull she got upset with me. She told me that it was bedtime and carried me back to my crib and kissed me on my forehead, turned on my womb bear, and closed the door. She left me. I pulled up to the end of the crib calling for her to come back but like she said before, "once you are down for the night, you are down for the night!" It wasn't too long that I gave up and crashed in the corner of my crib. :(

Grandmommy comes to story time

Sept 28 - Today was great. I woke up around 7am, like I have been doing regularly again (which means I am getting about 12hrs a night again). I had breakfast and after a little playtime I got a visitor. Grandmommy came over to spend the day with us. We had to get dressed so we could make story time at the library. We got there early this week and sat at the front of the room. I even sat on the carpet and listened to the librarians for some of story time. The other part I sat in Mommy's lap. I started to get a little fussy because I didn't get my morning nap but I made it through. After story time, I played a little on the busy box, said hi to Sam, and picked two more library books. Mommy picked one too. Then, we got back in the car and headed home and I slept in the car.

Once we got inside, Mommy started cleaning up. Grandmommy and I kept her company while she went from room to room. Then Mommy heated up lunch for her and Grandmommy and I ate and took another nap. After my nap, Daddy was home. I played a bit more and showed Grandmommy how I climb on the fireplace hearth and get down all by myself. She was very proud of me. Very soon after that Grandmommy had to say goodbye. Mommy and I walked her out and watched her drive away.

Daddy spent a little bit of time with me. I was pretty fussy for him though. I was getting hungry and wanted Mommy but she was in the other room sorting clothes (where she found this goofy hat she made me try on). Finally, Daddy put me in my high chair and gave me food. I still was being fussy for him so Mommy took over. I started my veggies and gobbled down an applesauce. After dinner, it was time for my bath. Mommy washed me as Daddy read one of the books I picked at the library. Then time for bed.

Sept 27 - Today Mommy still wasn't feeling great so we didn't go anywhere again today. Mommy and I just enjoyed each others company. She played on the Wii Fit and while she was playing one of the balance games I decided that I could help her. I crawled over to the balance board and started pushing on one side. Mommy said that I was throwing off her balance and laughed.

I played in my pack n' play, in my exersaucer, in my jumper and even went for a nap in my swing. I played on the cushions on the floor and with Mommy's Tivo remote. I pretty much did everything that I could do at the house. I also talked to Grandmommy on the phone today and hung up on her too. Oops! Sorry Grandmommy.

That was pretty much it. I was asleep at 7:15 and in the crib at 8pm.

Making Mommy feel special

Sept 26 - Today was a stay at home with Mommy and Daddy day. Daddy spent a lot of time with me. He tries really hard to get some quality time with me on the weekend since school takes up so much time during the week.

Mommy wasn't feeling all that great today. She said that she was really tired and wanted to take a nap but instead she left me with Daddy and went to the grocery store. Daddy and I got dressed in our Redskins gear so we were ready to watch some football. I actually really like watching football cause the picture on the tv is so clear and pretty green.

Daddy took care of me most of today and Mommy got a little bit of a break. Daddy even changed my poopy diaper (I usually only have one a day now) and Mommy mentioned that she was going to get a "poop free day." Well, I couldn't let her feel left out so I had two more poopy diapers just for her. It was probably the oatmeal that I have been eating.

Anyway, I enjoyed my time with Daddy even though the Redskins lost again. Then the three of us got me in my bath. Daddy washed me as Mommy read me a story. Then dressed for bed and out at 8:15pm.

Brunch at Shalese and Rashaad's

Today we woke up around 7am again. I seem to be back on my regular sleeping schedule of almost 12 hrs at night and two naps a day, one short nap in the morning of about 40 mins and one afternoon nap about 1.5 hrs.

After playing with my toys in the morning and then getting my short nap I was ready to hang out with Daddy so Mommy could get showered and ready to go out. Daddy and I played with more toys and then I spent some time in the jumper. Then it was my turn to get ready. Mommy got me dressed and all packed while Daddy showered. Then we all got in the car and went over to Shalese and Rashaad's house. Rashaad cooked brunch while Mommy, Shalese, Marcel and I played downstairs. They have this awesome toy called Elefun. It is this blue elephant with a long trunk that blows little butterflies up in the air to be caught in butterfly nets. Obviously I am a little too young to do that but that didn't stop me from playing with the elephant, the butterflies, or watching Mommy play.

Then I crawled around the room and all over Shalese. She was impressed with how much I am getting around my myself. Then I played while everyone else ate. I stood up on the coffee table and liked banging on the top of it. After everyone was done eating, it was my turn. I ate and then was ready for a nap. After I woke up I got to hang out with Rashaad. I sat with him on the couch and then he had me fly through the air like Superman. But by that time I was getting a little fussy and Daddy was getting tired too so we said our goodbyes and left.

Once we were home it was time to play. Mommy put couch cushions on the floor and I had a blast climbing all over them. I banged on the sliding glass door while the doggies were outside. Mommy fed me squash and more of that blended fruit with oatmeal mix. I seemed to like it more today. And then when it was time to get ready for bed I followed Mommy back to my room and she changed me and read me a quick story called Mommy Loves Me. I was asleep by 7:30.

Nom-nom-nom(Daddy feeds me)

Sept 24 - I woke up around 7am this morning. I played so nicely in my crib until Mommy came and got me. I am a good boy; Mommy tells me so.

Mommy and I did the usual morning stuff until Daddy got home early from work around 10:30am. I didn't know it but Daddy went into work really early this morning. They ate real quick and then Daddy headed off to bed and Mommy and I went next door to see Ms. Donna.

Ms. Donna was really happy to see me. She was having a lazy day like we had yesterday. Her dog Mocha was really excited to see me and kept sniffing at me. Ms. Donna is nice and let me crawl around on her floor and into her kitchen. You know me, always exploring. Then, she put me in a swirly chair in the kitchen and had me going in circles. She couldn't tell if I liked it at first but I had a smile behind my pacifier. Mommy carried me over to the sunroom and I looked down at her pond. After some more playing on her couch and looking at her birds Ms. Donna got dressed and the three of us hopped in the car and went to Arby's. I sat in my carseat on the floor while Mommy and Ms. Donna had lunch. When I was done playing with my froggy carseat toy, I started playing with the extra straw that Ms. Donna got for me. It was a good visit with Ms. Donna but I started to get tired and told Mommy I was ready for my nap so we got back in the car and went home. I was asleep before we got there.

When I woke up I was in the family room. Mommy was ready to feed me today's solid meal but I was too focused on Daddy so Mommy had him take over. Daddy fed me carrots and they were so good. I couldn't get enough. I kept making these noises that told Daddy how much I liked them and I would yell at him if he didn't get the next spoonful ready quick enough. Mommy and Daddy couldn't stop laughing at the nom-nom-nom sounds I was making. After carrots, Daddy gave me a little blended fruits with oatmeal (apples and bananas). I didn't really seem to like that too much. Then, Daddy practiced the pincher grasp with me with some puffs. Mommy also mentioned to Daddy that she can see my next tooth coming in. She can't feel it yet but can see a white bump where my top front tooth will come in.

After we were done eating it was time for a bath. Mommy told Daddy that I liked story time in the bath tub last time so Mommy picked a book and gave Daddy the option to read or to wash. He picked read so Mommy gave him the book - One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. It was Daddy and my first time reading that one. Daddy couldn't believe how funny it was or how long it was. He read as Mommy soaped me up and rinsed me off. He was still reading as she wrapped me in my towel and brought me into the bedroom to get lotion-ed and dressed for bed. Then we said good night to the animals in my room and turned on my nightlight. I was asleep around 7:30.

Demolition Man

Sept 23 - Today I woke up close to 8am which Mommy thanked me for. Today was one of those nice low key days spent at home with Mommy. Mommy played on the floor with me for a while this morning. One of my favorite things right now is for Mommy to stack all of the shapes from the shape sorter and I will come over and knock them all down. Mommy and I race, I try to knock them down before she can stack all 10 blocks. I usually win.

I practiced my step up and step down off the fireplace hearth pad. I am getting really good and careful to step down and not face plant onto the floor. I have started to test my boundaries too. There are a few places in the family room that I am not supposed to go which makes them places that I really, really want to go to such as the tv stand with all the electronic and under the table next to the couches where there is a surge protector. I know that I am not allowed but it is funny when Mommy says "No" and pulls me away. Mommy is not amused.

I also play more and more with my animals. I like petting my doggies and Apollo and Osiris are getting better about letting me pet them or crawl on them. They are putting up with me pretty well. And Salem is taunting me by flicking his tail. He makes me want to grab it. I was able to catch it for a couple of seconds today but he pulls it away too fast. I will get him good one day.

I spent a lot of time with Daddy once he got home. He chased me away from the tv stand a bunch of times and when he had enough he sat me on the couch and held me for a while in something he called a time out. I wanted to get back down and play but he made me sit there for a few minutes. I cried. But Mommy agreed that it would be best to sit for a bit. But then we got back down and played for a while. Daddy makes me laugh a lot.

I also practiced my standing a lot more, on everything. And I am not holding on as tight so I can practice standing on my own.

After all that playing, Mommy got me ready for bed around 7pm and I was sleep shortly after that.

Learning to share at group

I woke up around 7am this morning and Mommy thanked me for that. We had breakfast and I started to play while Mommy finished pumping. Then Mommy accidentally spilled the pumped milk all over herself. It was funny when she screamed but come on, Mom, you are wasting food! Then I took a short nap.

Ms. Bridget came today to clean. She held me for a little while and told me that I was getting big. Then she watched me crawl around and pull myself up on a few things. I played a bit longer until I got fussy and settled down for another nap. I woke up around noon. Mommy got us ready and we headed out to group.

Group was great today. I didn't gain anything, technically I lost an ounce and was 15 lbs 15.2oz but no biggie. I got to see Nathan, Eleanor, and Lily came back to group today. I hadn't seen her in a long time. She brought this really cool Winnie the Pooh floor mat and the four of us sat and played together on it. We shared some toys and talked to each other. Lily really liked Sophie. We all had a great time. I also got to hang out with Ms. Betty. She is always so nice to me and always so proud of everything I do. I like her.

I got myself too overstimulated again and started to get fussy so Mommy packed me up, we said good bye to all my friends, and we left. Mommy put me in the car and I was asleep in no time.

Once we were home Mommy and I played on the floor. I crawled all over her. She also pulled a couch cushion on the floor again and I practiced climbing on it. Later, Mommy fed me the sweet potatoes/corn mix I started yesterday. I finished that. Then, I had apples for desert, and finished those. Then, I had puffs. Yum! Then it was bath time. Mommy put me in the bath and while I was splashing around with my duck and my tugboat Mommy read me the book I picked from the library - Dancing Feet. It was a good book. After the bath, we got ready for bed. I was asleep at 7:30pm so I didn't get to see Daddy today but looking forward to seeing him tomorrow.

Another playdate with Sam

I woke up before 6:30am this morning which surprised Mommy since she thought I was going to sleep in. Haha, jokes on you, Mom. So we started our day. Played a little bit in the exersaucer as Mommy showered but I didn't mind since she pulled the exersaucer up to the doorway of the bathroom so I could still hear her and every now and then she would peek out at me and make me smile. Then I waited in my crib with a bunch of toys as she finished getting ready. She took too long. Then I took a short nap before it was time to get in the car and go to story time.

We were just a couple of minutes late but I had a good time at story time. I crawled around and looked at all the other kids and I listened so intently to the librarian. After story time I played with some of the kids on the busy box. I really love that thing. I also saw Sam and Ms. Erin. Mommy and Ms. Erin made plans for her and Sam to come over to our house later. I crawled over to the books and chose a book that had an elephant on it called Dancing Feet. Mommy said that I could check it out. It was my first library book.

Mommy and I left the library and met Aunt Lynn and Gavin at Giant. It was a long shopping trip but I was a very good boy. I missed Aunt Lynn and she told me that she missed me too.

We got home, Mommy put the groceries away and then it was time for me to take a nap. And nap I did! I slept for two and a half hours! Shortly after I got up Ms. Erin and Sam got here. Sam and I played on the floor with all my toys while Mommy and Ms. Erin played a really funny game on the Wii where they danced like crazy people. Too funny. I tried to be good about sharing but sometimes when Sam was playing with a toy he made it look really fun so I would want it. I couldn't help it. Sam seemed to like my crawl ball though.

After they left, Mommy got me in my highchair and fed me sweet potatoes/corn mix and then I finished my pear/pineapple mix for desert. Then I fed myself some puffs. Still working on that pincher grasp but getting better. Then it was time to play a little more and spend some time with Daddy before bed. I was asleep by 7:30pm.

Big boys play in tunnels

Sept 20 - Did you know that I love Mommy's Tivo remote? It is orange and I am just drawn to it. And since I have been playing with it, I have taught Mommy and Daddy three new things the remote can do. I am so smart.



This morning I played with my doggies and watched tv. Then we packed up and went for a quick visit to see Ms. Teresa at the gallery. She told me how much she missed me and how big I am getting. She held me for a while as she worked around the gallery. She is always so busy.



Then, Mommy took me to the park. SO much fun! Mommy and I played on a blanket in the shade. I really liked examining the grass. I would pull up handfuls of grass and then look at it and try to eat it. Mommy made sure I didn't eat any though. Then Mommy took me over to the playground. Since I am so good at crawling now she thought that I might like the tunnel. And boy, did I! She put me in one end and then I would crawl to the other end and Mommy was there waiting. I was so good at it that I started to play a game with her. I would crawl almost to the end and see Mommy and then turn around and go the other way. Then I would see her that way and turn around and go the other way again. I thought it was funny.

Then, Mommy held me as she let me go down the little slide over and over again. That was cool too. Then we went over to the baby swing. I really liked swinging. I went really high. The park was great.

Then Mommy and I came home and I had sweet potatoes and then pear/pineapple mix for desert. I also ate a bunch of puffs. I am getting really good at my pincher grasp.

Mommy and I played for the rest of the afternoon. Mommy put two of the couch cushions on the floor and I had a great time crawling on and off them. I took a quick nap around 6pm which gave me enough energy to wait up for Daddy to get home from school. I really wanted to see him today. He got home and then I was too excited to sleep. I ended up staying up til almost 10pm.

Daddy and Me

Sept 19 - Today was just a nice day inside with Mommy and Daddy. I got to spend a lot of time with Daddy since Mommy was getting some housework done. We had a great time. He took me for a walk around the house in the stroller and the doggies came too. He thought that I could be his little helper by helping him build that table he is making but I didn't like the sound of the saw. It scared me, so we came back inside. Then he and I packed up all the trash and we went to the dump. When we got back he helped me try to master the step down off the fireplace hearth pad. We also watched football together. It was such a great time.
Then it was time for the Redskins game so Mommy came in and watched with us. The game was really exciting but I was getting really tired because it was getting close to my bedtime. So Mommy and Daddy gave me a bath and then they got me ready for bed. It was just a fun low key day and I loved it.

Exhausted and still smiling

Sept 18 - We all woke up around 7am this morning. Daddy came in and saw that I was standing at the end of my crib just waiting for someone to come rescue me. After a quick change, I watched Mommy and Daddy put the gummy rail on my crib. Now I can bite my crib. The rest of the morning was same as every morning. I napped for a while and so did Daddy. Once I woke up I played until it was time to pack up and go over to Ms. Denise and Mr. Bryan's house for Mommy's sewing lesson and my playdate. Ms. Nicole and David were there too.

Eleanor, David and I had a great time playing. They had this really nice big area fenced off to play in. And we all brought toys to share. Mommy got the beginning part done of her pattern. She got the pieces cut and she sewed one seam on the sewing machine and Ms. Denise held me so I could watch. I liked the sewing machine. The sound actually made me laugh. Man, was it a great time with my friends!

I tried to take a nap their but I woke up in a couple of minutes because Mommy tried to put me down. I was having too much fun that I missed my nap and was exhausted by the time we left but I was still smiling.

When we got home it was bedtime. Fun fun day!
