A stomach bug, an Easter egg hunt, and lots of fun

Apr 9 - This morning we had to rush out of the house and get to the pool. Ms. Heather and Mr. Josh were there and Mommy and Ms. Heather did the deep water aerobics class while Mr. Josh and I got in the therapy pool. I was ok with Mr. Josh until he showed me Mommy and then I started to whine for her. We got out of the therapy pool and sat on the side of Mommy's pool watching her in the water. Once they were done we all got in the therapy pool together. I splashed and had fun then Mommy and I got in the big pool but I turned blue because I was cold so we eventually got out. We all went back to our house but I was really tired so I went to sleep right away. I woke up right as Mr. Josh and Ms. Heather were leaving but still was really tired and fell back to sleep in Mommy's arms. All in all, I napped for about five hours!

When I woke up I didn't want to get out of Mommy's arms. She knew something wasn't right. I sat in her arms for hours. Mommy fed me a little chicken as I sat in her lap and I ate a little. Very shortly after I threw up all over her and the couch. Mommy knew I wasn't feeling well but that was the first time I had ever thrown up. Mommy didn't mind and she actually kept holding me and patting my back until Daddy had finished cleaning off the couch and could hand me off to him. I started to feel better.

Apr 10 - Today I was feeling better but Mommy wasn't. She had to hand me off to Daddy for a big part of today because her stomach was bothering her. I was able to play in the family room with Daddy and even got my appetite back a little. I got a hold of a roll of paper towels. After unraveling the whole roll Daddy wrapped me up like a mummy. After Mommy got sick she joined me for some play time. Everyone was feeling better by bath and bedtime.

Apr 11 - Mommy and I woke up feeling great this morning. We got dressed and headed down to the beach to join all the Hip Mommas and kids. There were a ton of kids there including Alice, Ms. Dana's new baby. But shortly after I got there a bigger kid took a shovel and scooped sand in my face. It got all in my face and eyes and it hurt. Mommy picked me up and and cleaned my face. Then we went for a walk up the beach to get away from all the kids for a couple minutes. Mommy and I watch these two ducks. They were really close to us and weren't scared of us. We watched them as they sat under the dock and then got up and swam around and they even followed us as we walked away. We went back to where all the kids were. I had some fun but if anything didn't go my way like if Mommy tried to steer me back to the group or remove me from the bottom of the slide so another kid could slide down I would start to throw a temper tantrum and cry. Mommy would try to get me to calm down and I did for a little while. One of the older kids had dug a hole in the sand and filled it with water and some of the kids and I played in it splashing around. I was having fun until I fell in and got my pants all wet. I was done. We said goodbye and headed home.

Mommy got me cleaned up and put me down for a nap. Daddy got home early and was the one to get me from my nap. After eating lunch Mommy and I headed over to the park to meet David, Ms. Nicole, Eleanor, Mr. Byran, and Ms. Denise. Eleanor showed off her new walking skills. David and I spun around on the merry go round with Mommy and Ms. Nicole. We enjoyed swinging and Mommy and I went down the slides. It was so much fun. Then we headed home, got some dinner, and went to bed.

Apr 12 - This morning we went to story time. Today's theme was Spring. One of the little girls brought flowers for everyone. I picked my own egg shaker and put it back and I sat on Mommy's lap for the last couple of songs. Ms. Dana brought Caylee and baby Alice to share with the group and Mommy and I brought her a gift. After story time Mommy and I went home and hung out the rest of the day.

Once Daddy got home I sat in his lap and we watched the gummy bear song on the computer together.

Apr 13 - Today was the first Caps playoff game so Mommy and Daddy dropped me off with Grandma Joanie and Chachi while they went to the game. I played with them and ate dinner with the whole family. The only trouble I gave them was when it was time for bed. I didn't want to sleep. I stayed up til almost midnight until I finally crashed in Grandma's arms. Mommy came and got me and brought me home. But the Caps won!

Apr 14 - Today we went to the park for an Easter egg hunt. We didn't bring eggs to share because Mommy thought I wouldn't be interested in finding eggs and she was right. I just walked right by them. But Emmy, this little girl from some of the Hip Momma group playdates was nice enough to give me two of her eggs. Mommy let me eat the Kit Kat and mini chocolate egg inside them. Yum. We played on the equipment for a little while longer before heading home.

Later that evening Mommy and Daddy were playing with me and wanted to see if I liked being carried around on Mommy's shoulders. I was up there for about a minute before I decided I didn't like it.

Apr 15 - Today was Game 2 of the Caps series against the NY Rangers. Grandmommy and Granddaddy came down to watch me tonight while Mommy and Daddy and Aunt Erin went to the game. Grandmommy and Granddaddy brought me a cool keyboard to play with. They love to hang out with me and watch me play and I love to hang out with them too. I was as good as gold with them. We had lots of fun.

Mommy gets a jersey and lots of visits with friends

Apr 2 - We went to the Caps game today. It was a lot of fun but I still cried when they scored. I sat in Mommy's lap most of the time and she tried to cover my ears when the big horn went off. I didn't like the horn but I didn't like her covering my ears either, so I shook my head until she let go. I crawled over into Uncle Dave's lap for a little bit and crawled into Daddy's lap for a little while too but I was more comfortable in Mommy's lap and would always crawl back.

In the third period it was time for Mommy to go downstairs to meet up with the other jersey winners. She brought me to try to get me on the ice but when we got down there they told her that she wasn't allowed to bring me on the ice. So we ran back upstairs and she handed me off to Daddy. I sat and watched the rest of the game with him. It was an exciting finish. The Caps came back to win in OT! After the game we watched Mommy and the other winners pull numbers from envelopes and the player would skate over, take off their jersey, sign it, give it to the winner, and pose for a picture with them. Mommy got #25 Jason Chimera. After Mommy got her jersey I started to doze in Daddy's arms. It was after my bedtime. We met up with Mommy, said goodbye to Uncle Dave, and drove home. I slept. Mommy fed me once we got home and put me down for the night. I was really tired.

Apr 3 - We spent the morning just hanging out. I played and spent some time with Daddy. I took my nap a little early and woke up hungry. We had lunch and then I wanted to spend more time with Daddy but he was playing his game on the computer. I kept trying to grab his mouse or go behind his chair and he was getting frustrated with me. Mommy said that we should leave Daddy to have some down time and we were supposed to go see Ms. Shalese and Mr. Rashaad today anyway. So in the car we went.

When we got to their house we played upstairs for a while. I explored the house. I chased the kitties; they have three cats. I played in the cat water fountain and Mommy yelled at me. And I played with Mr. Rashaad's cell phone for a while. He was really nice to let me play with it.

Then we went downstairs and I watched Mr. Rashaad and Mommy play Toy Story 3 on the Wii. I sat between them for a little while until I got bored and decided to practice on the stairs. Mommy had brought my stacking balls and we bounced those down the steps. I thought that was fun. After being there for a while we said goodbye. It was nice hanging out with them. I wish we saw them more.

Before we went home we stopped off to meet Grandmommy and Granddaddy. They had a couple of things for me that they were dying to give me. They gave me a window shade with a monkey in the middle and it comes with a little remote that I can hold and make the monkey move in a circle. They also gave me a colorful ball that when you bounce it or hit it says "boing, boing, boing." I like it. They both told me they loved me and we said goodbye.

Once we got home, we ate and started the night time routine. Mommy bathed me and Daddy read me a story. I love my bath time. I splash like crazy. Then Mommy get me dressed and lets me run around the room. I take books off the shelf, I hide behind the curtain, and I listen to Mommy and Daddy read me a couple of board books. Then Mommy tells me its time for night-night and to give Daddy kisses. I usually protest a little and make Daddy feel a little sad. But then I practically jump into Mommy's arms and she gives me my pacifier and my Elmo remote, covers me with my blue blanket, turns on my nightlight and my womb bear. Then she tells me to sleep well, that she loves me and will see me tomorrow and closes the door.

Apr 4 - This morning Mommy took me to a playdate at the beach. Mommy put me in my sandals that she got from one of the baby showers. They were still too big but I could walk in them. A bunch of the Calvert Hip Mommas met on the beach and let the kids play. I was so happy to be there. Mommy took off our shoes and we walked up and down the beach. It was so nice. We collected a couple of shells and I got close enough to the edge of the water that it touched my toes. It was really cold and so I ran but would always come back for more. I played in the sand a little with Sam and some of the other kids and someone was nice enough to share their puffs with me. Then Mommy and I went home.
Daddy had gotten some bad news today. He is going to get laid off on Friday so he came home not in the best of moods. He said he is going to start calling people and see if he can get a new job for next Monday.

Mommy and I had made plans to meet with Eleanor and her parents back at the boardwalk this evening for a walk on the boardwalk. We asked Daddy if he wanted to join us but he wasn't feeling very social. We got down to the boardwalk and enjoyed the nice weather. Both Eleanor and I kicked our bare feet as we were pushed in our strollers. Then we all walked over to the Diary Freeze and Mr. Bryan went in and got us rootbeer floats while Eleanor, Mommy, Ms. Denise and I hung out outside. Mommy shared her float with me and it was yummy. We didn't stay too much longer after that. It was getting time to go home, eat real food, and get ready for bed and try to make Daddy feel better.

Apr 5 - We went to story time today. Ms. Dana wasn't there today because she had baby Alice yesterday but Caylee was there with her grandmother. Story time was about rainy days which was pretty perfect since it was really rainy today. After story time we waited around for the rain to stop but I started to get a little antsy so we just ran to the car. We stopped by the Harrington House to drop off some hockey tickets for Uncle Sean to go to tomorrow but we didn't stay cause we had to get home and clean the house. Mommy and I did a pretty good job trying to get the house back into shape. I didn't exactly help too much as I tried to undo everything that she was organizing. I also managed to pull Daddy's alarm clock off the night table and drag that around by the cord. I thought that was funny and Mommy had a difference of opinion. Then we played and napped and I couldn't wait until Daddy got home. I have been loving my Daddy time more and more. I sit with him in his chair and he shows me things on the computer.

I snacked on some cheese and peanut butter crackers and got my greasy hands on the blue mat over the hearth pad. Mommy and Daddy thought it was actually kind of cool because it left a perfect hand print. They tried to get a picture.

Apr 6 - Today Mommy and I hung out in the morning and did the normal thing. Then I took my nap. While I was sleeping Mommy went outside and worked on getting the backyard into shape. She was almost done when I woke up and called her on the monitor to come and get me. So after she fed me I joined her outside. She brought the pack n' play outside, a few toys and my sippy cup and I watched her scoop up the piles of leaves and debris that she had raked earlier. I also had fun throwing the toys and sippy cup out of the pack n' play over and over again.

Apr 7 - We went to the grocery store today. Mommy tried to keep me happy but I am getting a little too active to sit in the cart for long trips sometimes. Mommy had to open the crackers she was buying to keep me happy. We got home and Mommy worked on the yard for a little bit. She tried to dig up a tree that was growing too close to the house but couldn't do it all by herself. Daddy had to help finish it after he got home. Mommy and I watched him.

I have been talking more, well, more vocal anyway. Mommy and Daddy think it is cute and Mommy was able to get a video of me just yapping away before bed.

Apr 8 - We went to the gallery today to visit Ms. Teresa. She had a gift for Mommy to thank her for getting Ovechkin's autograph on her winter classic jersey. She brought Mommy a $50 gift card to a restaurant so Mommy and Daddy could have a night out. Mommy was pleased. We also brought Mommy's Chimera jersey to see what it would look like in the frame they sell there. Mommy thinks now is not the time to but the frame but likes the frame. Ms. Teresa was so happy to see me. She let me sit up on the counter and she took another picture with me and even worked while holding me.

We left there and ran over to the bank to deposit a check. I saw my buddy Steve there and the nice PNC lady held me while Mommy used the ATM. She also got a chance to spin the prize wheel and won a $2 check which she promptly deposited into the account as well.

We got home and Daddy came home with some good news. He is getting sent to another location on Monday and so he isn't getting laid off. Yay! Good things happening for the Harringtons. Before bed I played with Mommy's camera. I think I have an eye for taking pictures, don't you?

Bull Roast, Pool Time, and Silly Me

Mar 26 - We all got dressed all pretty today to go to Daddy's school event. It was a Bull Roast at Martin's Crosswinds. Even though it was kind of like an indoor picnic Daddy wanted us all looking presentable since he is a teacher at the school. We found Mr. Todd, Ms. Nicole and Noah pretty quickly after we got there. Noah has gotten a lot bigger since I met him at my birthday party. We sat and ate lunch. They had lots of good food. Daddy tried not to get my nice white collar shirt messed up but it was bound to happen.
After I ate I wanted to get down and walk around. Mommy followed me. There was so much to explore and so many people to say hi to. I walked every where including the dance floor, the bathrooms, up the stairs, and tried to get outside. Everyone thought I was so cute especially all the waitresses. When we finally left I was exhausted.

Later that evening Mommy could have sworn that I said doggie. Maybe I will say it again so she knows for sure.

Mar 27 - We woke up this morning with a little snow on the ground. Sadly, it melted before Daddy woke up at 10am. We hung around the house today. I played with my toys, we watched tv, and I shared my snacks with the dogs. It made me so happy to share with the doggies. As soon as they would take whatever from me I would run over to Mommy or Daddy and get more and then run back over to the dogs and feed them again. Mommy and Daddy started to catch on and stopped giving me snacks. :(

Mar 28 - Today Mommy and I watched more Dawson's Creek. Mommy recorded me playing in my crib after my nap. Then we got a little silly with the blow up beach ball. We finally did the dishes before Daddy got home from school. It was just one of those lazy days.

Mar 29 - Story time was all about babies. I listened to the librarians from the carpet in the middle of the room. I only like to sit in Mommy's lap for the last few minutes of story time for the last two songs. Today I did do something kind of cool. When it was time for Ms. Cynthia to bring out the egg shakers for If You're Happy And You Know It I actually ran over to her and grabbed an egg all by myself like some of the older kids do. Then when we were done I put it back in the basket all by myself too. And then ran over to Mommy to take her egg and put hers back in the basket too. Mommy was so proud of what a big boy I was.

After story time Eleanor, Sam, Noah, Caylee and I hung out for a little while. Eleanor took her first steps this week and did an encore performance for us so we could see her in action. Mr. Bryan said she will be chasing after me in no time. After the library Ms. Erin, Sam, Mommy and I went to IHOP. Sam and I sat next to each other talking and sharing snacks until our food came out. We both got the rootie jr. with strawberries on the side. I ate a lot and had some strawberry for desert. Yum.

Next Mommy and I went over to the Harrington House. Aidan didn't have school today so he and Gavin were playing in their room when we got there. The three of us ran around and played with toys until it was time for naps. Mommy held me tight in her arms and sung the days of the week song to me over and over until I fell asleep. But shortly after I fell asleep she tried to lay me down on the couch. BIG MISTAKE. I woke up screaming at her because now I was really tired and she messed it up. So we said goodbye and left. Mommy and I laughed at each other all the way home so I wouldn't fall back to sleep until I was in my own bed.

After my nap Daddy came and got me. He changed me and played with me while Mommy ran out to get me new swim trunks and food from the grocery store. It was good to get some Daddy time in. When Mommy got home she and Daddy laughed at me as I spent the rest of the evening entertaining myself by dragging my overalls around on the floor.

Mar 30 - Mommy had a doctor's appointment today so after breakfast she dropped me off at Ms. Erin's house. Sam was asleep when I got there so I played by myself until he woke up. Then the two of us followed Ms. Erin around while she started to get lunch ready. Mommy wasn't gone way too long. She said that she showed off my blog book at the doctor's office and everyone loved it.

We all had chicken tenders and mac n cheese for lunch. I didn't eat much. I wasn't in the mood to sit and eat. We hung out and played for a while. Then it was time to get home and take a nap.

After the nap I sat in my colorful toy bins...

tried to do headstands...

and rode on my car.

I was having trouble making it go so I got off, checked under the hood and pushed it the rest of the way.

Mommy showed me what the label maker does too.

Then I had dinner.

Mommy says I am one goofy kid.

Mar 31 - We went to the pool today. We hadn't been in a while so it was a special treat. We met Sam and Ms. Erin there. It took me a little while to get in but once I did I had a great time. I stood up in the shallow part by myself. I kicked and moved my arms while Mommy held me on my belly. But my favorite thing was to go down the slide. The purple slide is still my favorite. At first Mommy would walk me out of the water and up the stairs and then would sit down with me on her lap and we would go together. But I started to get the hang of it. After we went down she let me stand and walk out of the water but had to pick me up to go up the stairs. The next time I walked out of the water and over to the stairs and crawled up the stairs on my own. Soon, the only thing she was doing for me was putting me in her lap after she sat down on the slide. I was a big boy and we did this over and over again.

At one point, Mommy and I were over in the deeper part, you know, the 3ft water. She was showing me how she can put her mouth under water and blow bubbles. So she tried to get me to do it. She lowered me in till my mouth was underwater but my nose wasn't and then lift me up really quick. She was just trying to get me used to it. We did this a few times until I gave Mommy a little surprise. She lifted me up and I spit water at her. The lifeguard and Mommy started to laugh and Mommy said that it looked like I didn't that intentionally. I don't know what she is talking about. It was an accident. Hehe.

After all the fun in the water, and after Sam and I were all pruney and starting to turn blue from getting cold we decided to leave. Mommy and I went and showered off and then Mommy tried to open our locker. Oh no! She forgot the combination to the lock! She tried a bunch of times but couldn't remember it. She had to get a lifeguard to cut it off because our car keys, jackets, clothes, and shoes were in their. Mommy apologized to me over and over again for taking so long but it was ok. I didn't really mind. I was wrapped in a towel so I was cozy. After she got me dressed I hung out with Sam in the hallway while Mommy got dressed. We said goodbye and headed home.

Mommy knew I was tired but also knew I needed to eat. She stopped at Subway on the way home. I was already asleep when we pulled into the parking lot. She woke me up and took me inside. She got a sub for her and a kids meal for me. My meal comes with a small sub, chocolate milk, and a yogurt. She mistakenly gave me my yogurt to hold on to in the car. I tore into it and got strawberry yogurt on my jacket on the way home. Once we were home I sat in my chair and ate most of my sub and what was left of my yogurt. Mommy said she was impressed that I was eating my sub like a big boy. After that I went to sleep and slept for a while.

Daddy was home when I woke up. We played and hung out the rest of the evening.

Apr 1 - Mommy had orginially thought about taking me to Caps practice today but the weather said it was supposed to be rainy. She didn't want to risk me getting sick again so we stayed home. We watched tv and played with my green frog until it was time for my nap.
Daddy was home when I got up but he was really tired and wanted to take a nap. He has been working a lot recently and needs a break. Mommy thought this would be a great time to go visit Granddaddy and Grandmommy. So we hopped in the car and went to Granddaddy's school.

They were really happy to see us. I played in Granddaddy's classroom and walked around all the desks. Then I ran up and down the hall. Mommy played hide and seek with me which made me squeal with delight. Grandmommy drew me a funny face on a paper plate. She also gave me a couple of cars they had bought for me. They gave me a cupcake which I loved and let me play with their keys which is like my favorite thing in the world right now. Mommy got a phone call while we were there. She won the opportunity to go down to the ice at tomorrow's Caps game and get a game worn jersey by one of the players. She was super excited. We hung out for a few hours until I had to get home for dinner and my bath. They kissed me goodbye. We got home and Mommy told Daddy her good news. After a quick bath it was time for bed.
