Mommy gets a jersey and lots of visits with friends

Apr 2 - We went to the Caps game today. It was a lot of fun but I still cried when they scored. I sat in Mommy's lap most of the time and she tried to cover my ears when the big horn went off. I didn't like the horn but I didn't like her covering my ears either, so I shook my head until she let go. I crawled over into Uncle Dave's lap for a little bit and crawled into Daddy's lap for a little while too but I was more comfortable in Mommy's lap and would always crawl back.

In the third period it was time for Mommy to go downstairs to meet up with the other jersey winners. She brought me to try to get me on the ice but when we got down there they told her that she wasn't allowed to bring me on the ice. So we ran back upstairs and she handed me off to Daddy. I sat and watched the rest of the game with him. It was an exciting finish. The Caps came back to win in OT! After the game we watched Mommy and the other winners pull numbers from envelopes and the player would skate over, take off their jersey, sign it, give it to the winner, and pose for a picture with them. Mommy got #25 Jason Chimera. After Mommy got her jersey I started to doze in Daddy's arms. It was after my bedtime. We met up with Mommy, said goodbye to Uncle Dave, and drove home. I slept. Mommy fed me once we got home and put me down for the night. I was really tired.

Apr 3 - We spent the morning just hanging out. I played and spent some time with Daddy. I took my nap a little early and woke up hungry. We had lunch and then I wanted to spend more time with Daddy but he was playing his game on the computer. I kept trying to grab his mouse or go behind his chair and he was getting frustrated with me. Mommy said that we should leave Daddy to have some down time and we were supposed to go see Ms. Shalese and Mr. Rashaad today anyway. So in the car we went.

When we got to their house we played upstairs for a while. I explored the house. I chased the kitties; they have three cats. I played in the cat water fountain and Mommy yelled at me. And I played with Mr. Rashaad's cell phone for a while. He was really nice to let me play with it.

Then we went downstairs and I watched Mr. Rashaad and Mommy play Toy Story 3 on the Wii. I sat between them for a little while until I got bored and decided to practice on the stairs. Mommy had brought my stacking balls and we bounced those down the steps. I thought that was fun. After being there for a while we said goodbye. It was nice hanging out with them. I wish we saw them more.

Before we went home we stopped off to meet Grandmommy and Granddaddy. They had a couple of things for me that they were dying to give me. They gave me a window shade with a monkey in the middle and it comes with a little remote that I can hold and make the monkey move in a circle. They also gave me a colorful ball that when you bounce it or hit it says "boing, boing, boing." I like it. They both told me they loved me and we said goodbye.

Once we got home, we ate and started the night time routine. Mommy bathed me and Daddy read me a story. I love my bath time. I splash like crazy. Then Mommy get me dressed and lets me run around the room. I take books off the shelf, I hide behind the curtain, and I listen to Mommy and Daddy read me a couple of board books. Then Mommy tells me its time for night-night and to give Daddy kisses. I usually protest a little and make Daddy feel a little sad. But then I practically jump into Mommy's arms and she gives me my pacifier and my Elmo remote, covers me with my blue blanket, turns on my nightlight and my womb bear. Then she tells me to sleep well, that she loves me and will see me tomorrow and closes the door.

Apr 4 - This morning Mommy took me to a playdate at the beach. Mommy put me in my sandals that she got from one of the baby showers. They were still too big but I could walk in them. A bunch of the Calvert Hip Mommas met on the beach and let the kids play. I was so happy to be there. Mommy took off our shoes and we walked up and down the beach. It was so nice. We collected a couple of shells and I got close enough to the edge of the water that it touched my toes. It was really cold and so I ran but would always come back for more. I played in the sand a little with Sam and some of the other kids and someone was nice enough to share their puffs with me. Then Mommy and I went home.
Daddy had gotten some bad news today. He is going to get laid off on Friday so he came home not in the best of moods. He said he is going to start calling people and see if he can get a new job for next Monday.

Mommy and I had made plans to meet with Eleanor and her parents back at the boardwalk this evening for a walk on the boardwalk. We asked Daddy if he wanted to join us but he wasn't feeling very social. We got down to the boardwalk and enjoyed the nice weather. Both Eleanor and I kicked our bare feet as we were pushed in our strollers. Then we all walked over to the Diary Freeze and Mr. Bryan went in and got us rootbeer floats while Eleanor, Mommy, Ms. Denise and I hung out outside. Mommy shared her float with me and it was yummy. We didn't stay too much longer after that. It was getting time to go home, eat real food, and get ready for bed and try to make Daddy feel better.

Apr 5 - We went to story time today. Ms. Dana wasn't there today because she had baby Alice yesterday but Caylee was there with her grandmother. Story time was about rainy days which was pretty perfect since it was really rainy today. After story time we waited around for the rain to stop but I started to get a little antsy so we just ran to the car. We stopped by the Harrington House to drop off some hockey tickets for Uncle Sean to go to tomorrow but we didn't stay cause we had to get home and clean the house. Mommy and I did a pretty good job trying to get the house back into shape. I didn't exactly help too much as I tried to undo everything that she was organizing. I also managed to pull Daddy's alarm clock off the night table and drag that around by the cord. I thought that was funny and Mommy had a difference of opinion. Then we played and napped and I couldn't wait until Daddy got home. I have been loving my Daddy time more and more. I sit with him in his chair and he shows me things on the computer.

I snacked on some cheese and peanut butter crackers and got my greasy hands on the blue mat over the hearth pad. Mommy and Daddy thought it was actually kind of cool because it left a perfect hand print. They tried to get a picture.

Apr 6 - Today Mommy and I hung out in the morning and did the normal thing. Then I took my nap. While I was sleeping Mommy went outside and worked on getting the backyard into shape. She was almost done when I woke up and called her on the monitor to come and get me. So after she fed me I joined her outside. She brought the pack n' play outside, a few toys and my sippy cup and I watched her scoop up the piles of leaves and debris that she had raked earlier. I also had fun throwing the toys and sippy cup out of the pack n' play over and over again.

Apr 7 - We went to the grocery store today. Mommy tried to keep me happy but I am getting a little too active to sit in the cart for long trips sometimes. Mommy had to open the crackers she was buying to keep me happy. We got home and Mommy worked on the yard for a little bit. She tried to dig up a tree that was growing too close to the house but couldn't do it all by herself. Daddy had to help finish it after he got home. Mommy and I watched him.

I have been talking more, well, more vocal anyway. Mommy and Daddy think it is cute and Mommy was able to get a video of me just yapping away before bed.

Apr 8 - We went to the gallery today to visit Ms. Teresa. She had a gift for Mommy to thank her for getting Ovechkin's autograph on her winter classic jersey. She brought Mommy a $50 gift card to a restaurant so Mommy and Daddy could have a night out. Mommy was pleased. We also brought Mommy's Chimera jersey to see what it would look like in the frame they sell there. Mommy thinks now is not the time to but the frame but likes the frame. Ms. Teresa was so happy to see me. She let me sit up on the counter and she took another picture with me and even worked while holding me.

We left there and ran over to the bank to deposit a check. I saw my buddy Steve there and the nice PNC lady held me while Mommy used the ATM. She also got a chance to spin the prize wheel and won a $2 check which she promptly deposited into the account as well.

We got home and Daddy came home with some good news. He is getting sent to another location on Monday and so he isn't getting laid off. Yay! Good things happening for the Harringtons. Before bed I played with Mommy's camera. I think I have an eye for taking pictures, don't you?
