A mouse house

Today I slept in til 9:30am. I had made some noises every now and then didn't really wake up until Mommy and Daddy came to check on me. I was so happy to see them both.

Today was a lot more prep for the party. Cleaning, organizing the boxes in the living room, and the plan was to get some inside decorating done too. Mommy and Daddy moved some stuff up to the attic while I watched from my crib. They brought more clothes into my room. Then they put me in my swing in the living room and I watched them sort through a bunch of stuff. They did a really good job cleaning out all the junk that was in there to make room for all the Christmas junk from the shed. I was such a good boy. I just watched from my swing and eventually even took a cat nap.

When I woke up, Mommy let me out of the swing and I was going to help her put up the Christmas tree. She pulled the tree stand out of the box and the bottom part of the tree and started fanning out the branches. Then she noticed that there was a big pile of fuzz in the middle part of the tree. She told Daddy that she thought a mouse had gotten into the box and build a nest in the tree while it was in the shed! OH NO! So she took the tree outside.

We also watched the Redskins game so Mommy dressed me in my Redskins gear. They lost. Oh well, I still looked good.

I got to pet Salem today. He kept coming up to me and rubbing against me on the fire place hearth. He would purr and I liked it.

Later in the evening we got some bad news. Great Aunt Marian had passed away. We had just seen here for Thanksgiving. She had played with my toes and I had made her smile. She will be missed.

A bumpy day

Nov 27 - I woke up around 10am today since I stayed up so late last night. Mommy had started getting to Christmas lights up outside but came in to peek at me. I heard the door and sat up and looked at her, smiled a big smile, and crawled over to her. She changed me, and fed me and then we were off to Walmart after saying goodbye to Daddy.

We needed to get more Christmas decorations since some of the lights weren't working. Mommy let me pick a few new ornaments for the tree that we will be putting up soon. We also had to run to Ace Hardware. We got back home and after eating again it was just about time for my nap. Mommy didn't want to be stuck inside while I napped in her lap so she put me in the car, turned on the radio and gave me my giraffe blanket. I was asleep not too long after that. And I slept for almost three hours! Mommy was pleased since she was able to get all the lights up in that time.

When I woke up Mommy took me inside and I ate again. Now it was time to play. I played on the dining room floor while Mommy and Daddy sat with me. I played on my activity table. I played just about every where that I am allowed to play (and some places I'm not) and with everything I am allowed to play with (and some things I'm not). But as it got later I started to get uncoordinated. I was scooting my block across the floor and lost my balance and fell face first into it. It got me right by my eye. I cried. Then later, I was watching Mommy play Wii and was sitting on the hearth pad and lost my balance and rolled off of it bumping my head on the floor. I cried. Then, later, I fell off the hearth pad again, again bumping my head, and again, I cried. Each time, Daddy picked me up and soothed me and then Mommy held me and then I was off to get into something else. I am usually very graceful but today was an off day.

I played with Mommy some more on the floor. I used her to stand up and then let go. As I was standing there, Mommy rolled away and then told me to walk. I took one step and then fell. Again, Daddy didn't turn quick enough. I just have to keep practicing so Daddy can see me. I have also been saying mom-mom-mom a lot so now Mommy isn't left out when I say da-da-da.

I only had one nap, that one in the car, so when I told Mommy that I was tired at 8:30 Mommy got excited and got me to sleep. But it was a light sleep for an hour and then I was up and ready to play again. Mommy wasn't pleased. It wasn't supposed to be a nap she told me. Oh well. Mommy put me in my crib a little after 10pm and I went to sleep like a good little boy.

My first hat trick

Nov 26 - This morning we all slept in! We were all wiped out from yesterday and I didn't wake up til 10am. We all were kind of dragging today and just hung out at the house. Mommy and Daddy didn't want to go anywhere because it is Black Friday and tons of people are out shopping. So we stayed home where it was safe and warm just doing the regular eat, play, sleep.

That is until it was time for the Caps game. We were running behind to meet Uncle Dave at the game so when we parked at the garage Daddy took two tickets and went to meet Uncle Dave while Mommy and I stayed in the car and she fed me. Mommy forgot the wipes so she used the towel and a bottle of water to clean my messy face which I didn't mind so much. Then we rode the elevator, paid for the garage, and walked to the Verizon Center. We had missed most of the first period by then so Mommy changed me in the bathroom and walked around the first floor concourse with me. We saw a booth for the Caps Kids Club. So Mommy signed me up. I got a bag of goodies including a Mike Knuble bobblehead, a banner of Ovechkin, an activity book, a Caps bag, a tattoo, and a few other things. Then we walked over to guest services and picked up our season ticket holder gift. It was a nice Caps jacket and the Caps yearbook. Mommy had so much stuff now she was having trouble stuffing it all in her backpack and hold me. We rode the huge escalator up to the 400 level and stood at the bottom of the stairwell of our section watching the last minute of the first period.

At intermission we sat down with Uncle Dave and Daddy. Uncle Dave wanted to hold me so I sat on his lap for the whole intermission and more than 10 mins of the next period. I was so comfortable that I just nestled into his lap with my head against his arm and I watched the game as I pulled on my ear. Uncle Dave had to ask if I was still awake. I was, I was just enjoying the game. Uncle Dave also told me that he liked my tennis shoes. I told him that I liked his hat and he let me try it on.I went back to Mommy for the rest of the second period. I started to squirm a bit. I was now more interested in the people behind us or trying to stand up on Mommy's lap than I was the game. But Mommy gave me the chicken nugget and I was calm again as I chewed on it. I sat with Daddy for most of the third period just chewing on the nugget and watching the game. I didn't cry for any of the six goals the Caps scored. Not even when Semin got a hat trick and everyone got extra loud. My first hat trick! It was pretty cool to watch all those hat up in the air and down on the ice. I did really, really well at the game.
On the way home I fell asleep which means I wasn't ready to sleep when I got home. I stayed up til after 11pm again.

Happy Thanksgiving

Nov 25 - I woke up around 9am this morning and had a big smile for Mommy when she came to get me. She kissed me and told me "Happy Thanksgiving." She also apologized for the goofy outfit that she was going to put me in later.

We came out to the family room and saw Daddy. After breakfast Mommy and I hung out and did our usual thing while Daddy did the dishes and cooked his mac n' cheese. I told my morning nap and when I woke up Mommy handed me over to Daddy so she could get a shower and get dressed. Daddy played the Wii for me. After Mommy was dressed, it was my turn. Mommy again apologized for putting me in this goofy outfit with Pooh dressed as an indian and Tiger dressed as a pilgrim and that said "Baby's First Thanksgiving." It wasn't that bad and it was only for one day.

Daddy, Mommy, me and the mac n'cheese all jumped in the car and headed over to great Uncle Henry's and Aunt Marian's house in Ft. Washington. We said hi to everyone and I sat with Grandma for a little while being such a good little boy. Everyone started to comment on how good I was. Mommy said that they jinxed it. Shortly after, I started to get fussy and cranky. Mommy took me into a back bedroom and nursed me. I wanted to fall asleep but Mommy wouldn't let me. She said that she didn't want to be stuck in the back room for the next two hours. So we came back out to the party. It was just about time for everyone else to eat. Mommy and Daddy brought my high chair from home so I got to sit at the big table with everyone else. Mommy fed me a jar of turkey and rice first. Then she told me that I was going to try my first non-liquid turkey. She put a bunch of small pieces of turkey, ham, mac n'cheese, mashed potatoes and bread on my tray. I had a good time testing all of the different flavors and textures. I got a lot on the bib and some on the floor but I think I can say that I like Thanksgiving.

After the meal Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma went upstairs and played on the floor together. Mommy brought my nesting balls with the yellow rattle ball. I chased the rattle ball around the floor and knocked over the other balls when Mommy would stack them. Then Daddy took apart all the pieces and stacked them in order and told me to put the rattle ball on top. You know what? I DID! Mommy and Daddy couldn't believe it. I had with both hands laid the rattle ball right on top where it was supposed to go. Then I grabbed it back again and then placed it on top again just to tell Mommy and Daddy it wasn't an accident. They were thrilled.

It was just about time to go since I was getting really sleepy. I missed my afternoon nap. Aunt Lynn gave me a new toy to play with from the downstairs playroom where the rest of the kids were playing. Mommy and Uncle Sean thought the toy was cool because it was a chicken nugget with eyes from a happy meal about 20 years ago. They remembered that toy from when they were kids. I chewed on it and and it was perfect size for me. Since it made me happy Daddy said that we are keeping it.

We said our goodbyes and got in the car and drove home. Of course, I slept on the way home and woke up when we got there. Mommy tried to get me to go back to sleep but it wasn't happening even though I was still tired. I spent the rest of the evening playing. Before I went to bed Mommy asked me, "Do you know what we are thankful for?" Daddy answered, "You," as he poked my full belly and made me giggle. I was in bed after 11pm. Happy Thanksgiving.

A day with Elmer

Nov 24 - This morning I woke up around 8:30am. Mommy heard me make a few sounds so she cracked the door open to peek at me and I was laying down staring at the back of the crib. But I heard her so I sat up and crawled over to her. We ate and came out to the family room to start our day.

Mommy said that we had to leave the house at 11am so that we could make our lunch date with Elmer. So we got dressed and Mommy fed me my first solid of the day. We were actually in the car at 11:01 and Mommy was pleased. I played with my froggie toy on my car seat as we drove to meet him and fell asleep on the way. When I woke up we were at Steak in a Sack. I was still sleepy when Mommy took me out of the car seat. We went inside and we saw Mr. Elmer. I also met his mom and a few other workers but I was still waking up so I fussed a little. It wasn't until Mr. Elmer kept telling me that I was cute and tickling me that I started to get into a better mood. I sat in a high chair but I wanted to be held by Mommy until I finished waking up. When it was time to eat I sat in the high chair like a good boy and ate my chicken and rice while Mommy ate a grilled ham and cheese and Mr. Elmer ate a ruben. Once we were done I got to bang on the table and sat up on the booth.

Then we left with Mr. Elmer and headed to the mall. After a quick bite, Elmer carried me into the mall. I sat in the stroller as we went into a few stores. Mr. Elmer showed me the cool Christmas trees that light up all different colors in Sears. We got a stocking stuffer for Daddy there. Then we just walked around until all three of us were done.

We got back in the car and headed back to Steak in a Sack to drop off Mr. Elmer. I didn't get to say goodbye because I fell asleep. I hadn't gotten to see Mr. Elmer since I was just a couple weeks old. He was the first of Mommy's friends to see and hold me.

Elmer and Me when I was just 2 weeks old

When Mommy woke me up we were home. I wanted to keep sleeping and told Mommy she shouldn't of woke me up. I was fussy almost the rest of the evening. That is except when Mommy flipped the toy box over and put all my plastic blocks on it to bat around, clink together, and knock off. Mommy and I did that for a while and I thought it was hysterical.
The rest of the evening I climbed all over Mommy and Daddy and played with all my toys. I also stood up on the couch and took one step. Mommy saw it but Daddy didn't turn fast enough. I'll keep working on it. I was in bed by 9pm.

Noah, Sam, Gavin and I play at the park

Nov 23 - This morning I was so tired from staying up late that Mommy had to wake me up so we didn't miss the last story time of the year. She woke me up around 8:25am and we hurried to eat, get dressed and leave. We left the house late but somehow managed to get down the road and walk into story time just a couple minutes late. I sat next to Caylee and her mommy. I was still kind of tired so I just stayed close to Mommy. When story time was over we all went out to the play area. I played on the busy box then went over to the book shelf. Sam joined me. We pulled some books off the shelf together. Then we went and played in the boat. Noah and I stood at the back while Sam steered. There was another little girl that played peek-a-boo with me through a porthole.

When we were all done playing, Sam, Noah and I gathered our mommies and headed to the park. We were meeting Aunt Lynn and Gavin there. I napped on the way there. Before we really started playing Noah and I had a little to eat. Then I played in the tunnels and went down the slide. Gavin and I tumbled around in the tunnels together. We had a good time climbing around each other and looking out of the tunnel holes.
Sam and Noah were swinging and Mommy and I came over to watch. Then Ms. Erin said that there is probably enough room for me to fit with Sam. So Mommy put me back to back with Sam in the swing. Sam was having so much fun as his Mommy pushed from his side that he clapped and I was having so much fun from my side as Mommy pushed that I giggled.

Then we got on the merry-go-round with Gavin and spun around and around till we were really dizzy. We relaxed on one of the ramps. But it was getting late so we said goodbye to Sam and shortly after we said goodbye to Noah. I got to spend a little time with Aunt Lynn and Gavin. Mommy gave me a little water from her water bottle and I actually drank it. It was time to leave the park so we said goodbye to Aunt Lynn and Gavin and got in the car.

Mommy had to run a couple of checks to the bank in Giant and it was pretty funny when Aunt Lynn parked right by us. She had to get some stuff for dinner. We said good bye again and went to the bank. As soon as we were done with the bank we spotted Ms. Donna. She was doing her grocery shopping. She held me and kissed me and told me that I am cute. We need to visit her more. We said goodbye and headed home.

Almost right after we got home, Daddy got home. Then it was nap time. When I woke up I got to play a little before it was time to eat. Daddy fed me tonight. I was really good for him. Then it was bath time. Mommy bathed me while Daddy finished Jolly Tall. Then it was bedtime. Today was a fun day!

Nice long nap with Grandmommy

Nov 22 - This morning I woke up around 8am. Mommy and I had breakfast and then she started on the dishes while I sat in my highchair. We were both waiting for Grandmommy to get here. When she did get here I was really excited to see her. It felt like forever since I saw her last.

After watching Mommy and Grandmommy eat their breakfast, I got a little more to eat then it was nap time. Grandmommy took me back to my room, we sat in my glider and she wrapped me up with my giraffe blanket, gave me my pacifier and rocked me to sleep. I was so warm and comfortable that I slept for about 2 hours. When I woke up I was happy and well rested. Grandmommy and I talked to each other a little before we both called for Mommy to come back.

Mommy put away all the laundry and then added a bunch of outfits to my dresser. I am getting bigger and am wearing a bunch of 6-9mo outfits now. Then we ate. Grandmommy watched me eat cheese. Mommy finished all the dishes and then we got to play a little.

Eventually it was time for Grandmommy to leave. She kissed me goodbye and left. I napped again. Then Mommy and I made tacos for Daddy. He got home around 8pm. I played with my toys and then I used Apollo to stand up. Mommy said that Daddy might just get his wish after all. Before I was born, Daddy would tell Mommy and Apollo that I was going to be best friends with Apollo. That Apollo was going to help teach me to walk just like his dog Tammy helped him to walk when he was a little boy. Daddy was in the other room when I stood up on Apollo and cruised with him as he took a few steps but Mommy told him that we did it.

It was past 9pm now and I guess I napped too much because when Mommy put me in my crib I screamed a blood curdling scream until Daddy came and got me. He brought me back to Mommy and she let me play a while longer to get out the extra energy that I had. I stayed up later than Daddy. He had to go to sleep so he could get up for work tomorrow so we stayed up just the two of us, Mommy and me. Mommy tried again to put me in the crib a little after 11pm. I didn't make a peep this time and went to sleep like a good boy.

Upgrading to bigger and better

Nov 21 - I was so wiped out from the game last night that I slept in later than I ever have before. I slept til 9:30am until I finally woke up and called out for Mommy. And when she came to get me Daddy came too so I got to see both of them first thing. They talked to me in my crib and then Mommy got me changed and Daddy carried me out to the family room.

Today was a recuperating day. I still had a runny nose so we just took it easy inside. Mommy said she had to go run some errands and take the trash to the dump so I stayed with Daddy while she went out. I watched him play ping pong on the Wii and we also watched football together.

When Mommy got back she had brought frozen pizza from the grocery store. Have I told you how much I love the refrigerator? As soon as Mommy or Daddy open the fridge door I am right there either standing up playing with the crisper temperature switch or grabbing the lemon juice off the bottom shelf of the door to play with. Since the fridge is such a good distraction for me, Mommy has opened the fridge for me while she grabs something out of the oven or stirred something on the stove and I am safe from harm.

Recently Mommy and Daddy saw that I would crawl over to the exersaucer and pull my self up on it and play with all the activities but they didn't really like that since the exersaucer turns and isn't secure. I could fall. So they decided that since I don't really like to be trapped in it anymore that it is time to upgrade. They transformed my exersaucer into a standing activity table! I still get all my activities without the wobbly saucer part. I love it.

We played with my panda bear and hung out together until dinner and bath time. Mommy gave me a bath as Daddy read one of the library books I picked called Jolly Tall. It was about a giraffe. I played with my tub toys and splashed around. Then it was time to dry off, lotion up, and dress for bed. I was in bed by 9:30pm.

Getting another cold?

Nov 20 - This morning when Mommy came and got me from my crib I had a bit of a runny nose. Mommy asked me if I was feeling ok. She told me that we were going to take it easy this morning and reassess the hockey game later today.

So we just hung out at the house. We played, and napped and ate just like any other day. I am cruising everywhere! I barely need to hold on to anything and a lot of times just pull up and let go and stand for a long time before getting back on my knees. Mommy says that she can just tell that I am thinking about lifting my foot a little and taking my first steps.

Mommy sent a message to Daddy to let him know about my runny nose. She asked Daddy if he thought we should stay home and he thought that maybe we should if I am not feeling well. But I was acting like my normal self. Mommy held me down and wiped my nose and made me laugh. Then she checked to see if I had a new tooth coming in and sure enough, there it was! Number 8.

I played with the doggies a bit. I found Apollo on the couch and got to pet his head before he got tired of Mommy taking pictures and moved. When Daddy got home he took a nap before the game. When he woke up I told him that I was fine and was ready to go to the game. We jumped in the car and drove to DC. Mommy dressed me extra warm, just in case. We met Uncle Dave by the elevators. We got our free poster because we brought can goods for the food drive. I got to see Ms. Shoshanna, Mr. Brian, and Trevor. Ms. Shoshanna was thrilled to see me. I sat with Daddy all of the first period. I was an angel. I watched with Daddy and he soothed me when the Caps scored and the loud horn went off.

During the first intermission Ms. Shoshanna held me. She tried to get me to look at the Mites on Ice but I wasn't really interested. I was more interested in Trevor and playing with my ticket. But she was really nice to me and told me that I was adorable.
During the second period I sat with Mommy. We sat there watching the game until about mins left in the period when we left to go eat. We sat on the concourse and Mommy fed me my sweet potato and turkey meal. We got back to our seat and Mommy gave me my bottle. I spent the third period with Daddy again and after a little squirming I was perfect again. I even made it through overtime and the shootout. Too bad the Caps couldn't win. We said good bye to Uncle Dave and Mommy changed me into my sleeper. Then we walked to the car and I fell asleep. When we got home, I woke up and since Mommy thought that I didn't get enough to eat at the game she fed me and I was out like a light.

Starting to wave

Nov 19 - Today was a home day. Mommy and I just hung out in our pjs most of the day. I ate all my food and took a couple of nice long naps. It was just one of those great, lazy days. When Daddy got home he got on the floor with me and played with my panda bear that Grandmommy gave me. I got really excited to see the panda bear bouncing around on the floor and giving me kisses. I laughed a lot. Then when Daddy left the bear on the floor I grabbed its paw and dragged him around the room as I crawled. Mommy got a kick out of that one.

I did do something pretty cool today. I started to wave. Mommy would say "hi" and show me how to open and close my hand and then I would look at my hand and try to do it too. Mommy was really happy. She tried to get me to do it for Daddy but I wouldn't. I will have to keep working on that one.

Family pool day

Nov 18 - Well Mommy came up with the idea of trying the next size up diaper last night and I woke up dry and happy this morning. First time in a while.

The morning was pretty normal - eating, playing, and napping. I napped for about two, maybe two and a half hours. When I woke up Mommy told me that we were going to be late to meet Aunt Erin, Aunt Lynn, Aidan, and Gavin at the pool. So we packed up, ate really quick, and left. When we got there Aidan was going down the slides. Gavin wasn't really into the slides today for some reason. He just wanted to hold on to Aunt Lynn. Mommy let me play a little with Aunt Erin to show her how well I can kick and how well I splash. Mommy and I went down the slides a few times too. I still like the purple slide the best. After hanging out in the kiddie pool for a while I started to get cold again. My lips were the color of my favorite slide. So we all walked down to the therapy pool. It was SO much warmer in there. So warm and cozy that I cuddled up to Mommy and almost fell asleep.

Gavin and I were getting really tired and Aidan wanted to go too so we all got dressed in the locker room. Once Aidan, Gavin, and I were dressed Mommy brought us out to the lobby where I crawled around and Aidan and Gavin got down on their hands and knees and crawled with me while we waited for Aunt Lynn to get dressed. Then we said our goodbyes and headed home. I surprised Mommy but not falling asleep in the car but waiting till we got inside. We said hi to Daddy and then as I was getting ready to take my nap Daddy decided to take one too.

When I woke up it was time to eat. After I ate my chicken meal Mommy gave me some shredded cheese. I enjoyed picking it up and feeling it in my hands. I got some in my mouth and it isn't bad. Mommy also tried to give me a little apple juice but I just don't like to drink from a cup and I don't get how a sippy cup works. I guess Mommy just has to keep practicing with the cup.

Daddy and Mommy played on the Wii while I watched. The three of us had lots of fun together until it was time for bed.

Blood work is no fun

Nov 17 - This morning I woke up early and so Mommy brought me back to bed with her. We ended up sleeping till about 8am. I woke up to Salem kneading my legs under the covers and Osiris next to me sneezing. It was kinda fun to wake up to the animals and it is always nice to wake up to Mommy's smiling face.

Ms. Bridget came by to clean today. She always tells me that I am a doll and that I am perfect. I'll tell you that you never get tired of hearing things like that. I hung out with Ms. Bridget and Mommy as they did some chores. I watched Mommy fold clothes and Ms. Bridget clean the toilets. After all that supervising it was time to nap.
When I woke up it was time to get going to group. When we pulled up at the light to turn into the hospital Eleanor and her parents were right behind us. Mr. Bryan honked his horn at Mommy. He was just being silly.

The scale at the doctor's office must be really off because I weighed in at 16lbs 13oz today (12oz heavier than yesterday). Group was fun. I got to play with James, Lily, Violet, and Eleanor. I kept leaving the group and crawling into the store to see what Ms. Betty was up to. She is always so nice to me and since she sees me every week and really knows me Mommy trusts her when she says my weight is fine for as active as I am. I also got to play with Ms. Tara, James' Mom, a bit. She has a cool necklace that is great for pulling on. So while I played with her and her necklace, James hammed it up for the camera. Violet also shared her phone with me. I love it! It says "hello" when you open it and makes all kinds of sounds.

After group Mommy and I walked through the hospital and over to the medical arts building to get my blood work done. Mommy said that I always happen to be in such a good mood the days that I have to get stuck with a needle which makes her feel that much worse since I don't know what is coming. So we get to Labcorp and the technician says that he is going to do a quick finger prick. He lied. There was nothing quick about it. He had Mommy hold my arm at the elbow so I couldn't bend it and he grabbed my hand, stuck my finger, and then squeezed and squeezed til I filled three little vials. I cried, of course, but Mommy quietly sang in my ear Two Little Blackbird, Bumping Up and Down, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. That made me stop crying. The technician finished up and put a band-aid and a green dinosaur wrap around my finger. I kept trying to put it in my mouth but Mommy kept telling me "No!" When we got back to the car she took it off so I wouldn't swallow it on the way home.
Later that evening Mommy dressed me for bed in my Orioles outfit. Mommy told me that I was so cute and that Granddaddy would love to see me in it. So Granddaddy, this one is for you. When Daddy got home he told me that he really liked my outfit too. I have been getting more and more excited to see Daddy and hang out with him. He is really starting to see how much I love him and want him around. I even crawl over to him when he is on his computer and watch him play his game or stand at his desk talking to him. I want to be just like him.

9 month doctor's visit

I woke up unhappy and wet again this morning. Mommy said that we are going to have to get some new diapers for me to wear while I sleep or something because she hates to have me wake up so unhappy every morning.

We came out to the living room, had breakfast and watched tv. Then we both got dressed, grabbed the library books, and jumped in the car to go to story time. I had just fallen asleep when we got there so I was not happy when I had to wake up. But we got inside and I saw my friends Sam and Caylee and was all better. We all went into the story room and Noah joined us. I was much more interested in my blackbirds today than in the stories that the librarians were telling. I held my blackbirds almost the whole time, except when it was time for the egg shakers. Today's theme was forest animals like squirrels, turtles, frogs, snakes, rabbits and even moose and bear.

After story time Caylee had to go right away but Sam and Noah and I hung out and played. Noah is climbing up on everything now. We all had a good time socializing and pulling books off the shelves. I got five more library books this week. We said good bye and we would see everyone next week for the last story time :(

I fell asleep on the way home. When I woke up Mommy and I went inside, ate, and played. Daddy got home and I was really excited to see him. He got down on the floor and played ball with me. It was time to leave for my doctor's appointment so we said goodbye to Daddy and left. We got in the office and said hi to my favorite nurse. Then Mommy and I sat in the waiting room. We got called back to the exam room and I was so anxious I couldn't sit still. I was trying to wiggle right out of Mommy's arms. The other nurse came and weighed and measured me. I was 16lbs 1oz, 27 inches long, and my head is 17 inches round. We waited in the exam room for the doctor and looked at the posters of body parts on the walls. Mommy showed me the picture of an ear then touched my ear, then pointed to the picture of the nose and touched my nose, then pointed to the picture of the ribs and touched my ribs (this made me giggle). We did it a bunch of times until the doctor came in.

Dr. Sharma is nice but I was just so anxious today I didn't want to sit still for her. She looked in my ears, eyes, nose, and mouth. She pushed on my belly. She asked Mommy what my favorite food was. Mommy told her I like sweet potatoes and apple/blueberry. She asked if I eat a lot of sweet potato because my skin is a little yellow. She said yes. The doctor recommended getting some blood work to make sure that there is nothing wrong. She also told Mommy that I am not gaining enough weight and that I should start eating cheese. Mommy also showed the doctor a few patches of dry skin that are on different places on my body. The doctor says that I have eczema and she needs to keep it moisturized. After all that I got my first dose of the flu shot. I cried but Mommy distracted me with one of my blackbirds. I stopped crying pretty quickly once I got my blackbird.

Mommy thought that I had been through enough today so we would wait tomorrow to go get the blood work done and since it is done at the hospital and we will be there tomorrow anyway it is better to go home and get some rest. We got home, ate, and took a nap.

When I got up it was play time. I spent some time with Daddy as Mommy rested on the couch. Mommy was not in the best mood after the doctor. So Daddy played on the Wii and I watched. When Mommy woke up from a short nap she joined Daddy and played on the Wii too. Then it was time to eat again. After eating it was bath time. I played with my new Grumpy Bear bath toy and a bunch of other toys as Daddy washed me and Mommy read me one of the library books. Then we got dried off, lotioned up, and dressed for bed. We said good night to the animals on the comforter, good night to Daddy, and was asleep in no time.

A day with Aunt Erin

This morning I slept in til 8am. I know Mommy was happy about that. I probably could have slept longer if my diaper wouldn't have leaked again. But I was cold and wet and needed Mommy so I called for her to rescue me. We got out to the family room and did the regular routine. Mommy was able to get all the dishes washed before I told her I wanted her to pay more attention to me. So we went back in the family room and played.

Around noon Aunt Erin came over. The doggies didn't even bark at her. She got on the floor and played with me. She told me that I played very well on my own as she watched me play with my drum for the longest time ever. I crawled around showing her everything that I could get into. Then I ate and played more with Aunt Erin as Mommy cleaned up a little and got some laundry done. When it was time for my nap Mommy brought me in the living room, put me in the swing, and gave me a bottle and my blanket. I napped for a short time but I heard Mommy and Aunt Erin having fun playing the Wii in the other room. Mommy came and got me. I watched them play on the Wii and Mommy and I showed Aunt Erin how I get weighed in on the Wii Fit. They played for a while more.

Then Mommy turned the Wii off and showed Aunt Erin how much I like The Office theme song. She showed Aunt Erin what Mommy and Daddy discovered; that I could be doing anything and as soon as I hear that song I stop what I am doing and stare at the tv frozen until the song is over. They find it amazing and Daddy says the song needs to be longer. Then I went back to playing. I chased the blue ball all around the room. After I was done with that, Mommy and Aunt Erin ganged up on me and tickled me. I was powerless against them. I couldn't stop laughing.

Daddy got home shortly after that. He gave me an empty water bottle and I batted that all around the room. It was already after 8pm and was getting pretty tired. Aunt Erin said that it was getting late and she needed to go so I gave her a nice hug goodbye. She said that we might get together again later in the week. I would like that.

I got dressed for bed, said good night to Daddy, and was off to dreamland.
