Blood work is no fun

Nov 17 - This morning I woke up early and so Mommy brought me back to bed with her. We ended up sleeping till about 8am. I woke up to Salem kneading my legs under the covers and Osiris next to me sneezing. It was kinda fun to wake up to the animals and it is always nice to wake up to Mommy's smiling face.

Ms. Bridget came by to clean today. She always tells me that I am a doll and that I am perfect. I'll tell you that you never get tired of hearing things like that. I hung out with Ms. Bridget and Mommy as they did some chores. I watched Mommy fold clothes and Ms. Bridget clean the toilets. After all that supervising it was time to nap.
When I woke up it was time to get going to group. When we pulled up at the light to turn into the hospital Eleanor and her parents were right behind us. Mr. Bryan honked his horn at Mommy. He was just being silly.

The scale at the doctor's office must be really off because I weighed in at 16lbs 13oz today (12oz heavier than yesterday). Group was fun. I got to play with James, Lily, Violet, and Eleanor. I kept leaving the group and crawling into the store to see what Ms. Betty was up to. She is always so nice to me and since she sees me every week and really knows me Mommy trusts her when she says my weight is fine for as active as I am. I also got to play with Ms. Tara, James' Mom, a bit. She has a cool necklace that is great for pulling on. So while I played with her and her necklace, James hammed it up for the camera. Violet also shared her phone with me. I love it! It says "hello" when you open it and makes all kinds of sounds.

After group Mommy and I walked through the hospital and over to the medical arts building to get my blood work done. Mommy said that I always happen to be in such a good mood the days that I have to get stuck with a needle which makes her feel that much worse since I don't know what is coming. So we get to Labcorp and the technician says that he is going to do a quick finger prick. He lied. There was nothing quick about it. He had Mommy hold my arm at the elbow so I couldn't bend it and he grabbed my hand, stuck my finger, and then squeezed and squeezed til I filled three little vials. I cried, of course, but Mommy quietly sang in my ear Two Little Blackbird, Bumping Up and Down, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. That made me stop crying. The technician finished up and put a band-aid and a green dinosaur wrap around my finger. I kept trying to put it in my mouth but Mommy kept telling me "No!" When we got back to the car she took it off so I wouldn't swallow it on the way home.
Later that evening Mommy dressed me for bed in my Orioles outfit. Mommy told me that I was so cute and that Granddaddy would love to see me in it. So Granddaddy, this one is for you. When Daddy got home he told me that he really liked my outfit too. I have been getting more and more excited to see Daddy and hang out with him. He is really starting to see how much I love him and want him around. I even crawl over to him when he is on his computer and watch him play his game or stand at his desk talking to him. I want to be just like him.
