Jan 10 - I woke up on the early side today. It was a little before 7am. So Mommy wasn't surprised that I wanted to go back to bed for a morning nap around 10am. I slept for a few hours and when I woke up Mommy told me about this playdate that Caylee and her mom had told us about at the McDonald's in Dunkirk. So we decided to go check it out.
There were a lot of kids there but they were all older and running around. I watched them run back and forth for a little while but then I wanted to join in. Mommy put me into this one little area that had a steering wheel. I liked that I could bang on the windows. A few of the kids were really interested in me and wanted to play but Mommy said I was too little. I tried to show her that I could do it by crawling up the steps to go to the tunnels above but Mommy didn't want me to go by myself and she couldn't follow. She told me I could when I was a little older. We left shortly after that. We thought about getting an oil change but they were booked. We tried to pay a visit to Ms. Teresa at the gallery but she was off today. Nothing was really working out today and I was getting a little cranky.
Mommy decided that we would try one more thing before calling it quits. We headed down to the beach to the community center. Grandma and Aunt Erin told Mommy yesterday about this place and Mommy wanted to check it out for my birthday party. We peeked in to some rooms upstairs and they looked really nice so Mommy filled out an application. While she did that I crawled around on the floor. I kept hearing this sound and had to go investigate. I crawled toward the sound and into this huge room with wooden floors. There was this man bouncing a big orange ball on the floor and my eyes went wide with excitement. I had to get closer. I crawled across the floor and toward the man. He was a really nice man and asked if I wanted to play. He would bounce the ball a few times and then roll it to me. I would hit the ball a few times and then try to roll it back. We did this for a few minutes and I was having the best time. I really didn't want to leave but Mommy said that we had to give the nice man his ball back and get going.
We got home and I said hello to my doggies. I tried to figure out how to let them out of their cages but couldn't quite get it. Mommy and I hung out at the house playing for a while. When she was feeding me she got a call from the community center. She was told all the nice rooms upstairs were booked til April! Oh, no. But they did have a pre-school room available. So Mommy and I hopped back in the car to go down and check it out. Mommy thought it was a good room and she booked it for Feb 5th. So now we have a location for my first birthday party. We headed to the party store in Dunkirk to see if we could figure out a theme. We looked around but nothing jumped out at us. We got back home and I was a sleep before Daddy got home from school.
