A day with no nap

Jan 8 - So I woke up a little before 9am. Mommy and I just did our normal routine until about 11:30am. Then we had to get dressed and get the shower gift ready for Ms. Laura's baby shower. We left the house and headed to Laurel. I talked to Mommy and played with my carseat froggy most of the way there. It was about time for my nap so I fell asleep. But I only got to sleep for about 20mins at that point and we were there and had to get out of the car. I didn't want to but when Mommy asked me if I wanted to stay in the carseat I told her no. So she fed me in the car and we went inside the church where the shower was being held.

I was really good for a while. I sat on Mommy's lap and everyone commented on what a good boy I was and how cute I was. Mommy fed me puffs and I smiled at everyone. We waited for Ms. Laura to arrive and when she did she was with Mr. Randy. Mr. Randy came over and told me that I have gotten so big since he has seen me last. Ms. Laura said that I probably don't remember her. It has been a while and only once but I remember.

Ms. Chris, Laura's mom, held me so Mommy could eat. I wanted some but Mommy didn't share. Then Mommy put me in the highchair they have at the church. I finished the rest of my food from the car and ate more puffs. After that, I started to get fussy and wanted out of the highchair. So Mommy held me. Then I started to get very vocal while everyone was trying to play a game. So Mommy walked me around the church. I calmed down a bit and we went back inside. One of Ms. Laura's friends held me for a few minutes while Mommy had cake. She didn't share that either and told me that I had less than a month til I could have some cake. I was really good for Ms. Laura's friend but when she handed me back to Mommy I told Mommy it was time to go!

So we packed up, apologized to Ms. Laura, said goodbye and see you soon to my little friend-to-be, and left. Mommy thought I was going to sleep the whole way home. She was wrong. I talked most of the way. We got home and even though I looked tired I wanted to play. So I played for a while until Mommy told me that I needed a nap. She put me in my crib and told me to get some sleep. I cried and cried for almost 30 mins before she came back for me. I was a little clingy after that and stayed really close to Mommy and Daddy for the rest of the evening. I finally went to sleep at 8:30pm.
