It is a whole new year. I decided to try to do something a little different this year with the formatting. Instead of writing so much about every day I am going to try to hit the highlights about the week. Lets see how it goes.
Feb 6 - After the long party the day before I slept in. I had my first ride in the Saturn as Mommy and Daddy dropped me off with Aunt Lynn so they could go to the Caps/Pens game. I had a great time with everyone at the Harrington House and napped for a while in Gavin's crib. When I woke up it was just me and Aunt Lynn since Uncle Sean took all the kids to drop off Collin and Bailey. I sat with Aunt Lynn until Mommy and Daddy came back.
We drove home and then Daddy got in the van and Mommy drove the Saturn to the mechanic. We dropped the van off to get checked tomorrow. Then we went home where Daddy gave me a present...my very hockey stick. He showed me how to hit a ball. I carried the stick around a little and Mommy said I looked cute.
Then I ate an entire piece of yellow cake left over from yesterday and a small bite of chocolate cake. It was fantastic. Then I walked around with my balloon.
Feb 7 - Mommy used today as a big cleaning day since we were stuck at home with no car. She vacuumed under and behind the couches and cleaned up the mess that came home from the party. I really like the tunnels the couches created when pulled away from the walls. I laughed and laughed as I crawled back and forth.
Then I tried to help by unrolling the paper towels. Then Ms. Erin and Sam came over for a mini play date. Ms. Erin watched me while Mommy cleaned other rooms in the house. Then it was time for a nap for both me and Sam so Ms. Erin and Sam said goodbye and I went to bed.
I tried feeding Apollo a bagel chip by touching it to his nose but he wouldn't take it. I think he was afraid to.
I also tried to tell Mommy I wanted an Oreo but I don't think she got my subtle hint as I carried the bag around and slid it across the floor.
Mommy and I played until Chachi and Aunt Erin brought the van home to us. That was nice of them so we didn't have to wait til Daddy got home from school to go get it.
Feb 8 - I woke up to Aidan opening my door. He had been dropped off by Uncle Sean a little earlier. Daddy stayed home from work today. We all ate breakfast together at the table and then Aidan and I played a little until it was time to jump in the van.
We had to drop Aidan off at school and then hurry to story time. It was Valentine's Day at story time. I played a little after story time with Noah and Sam but I was so much more interested in walking through the rows of books or crawling under them. Then I drove Mommy crazy by removing books off the shelf for Mommy to put back. I wasn't in the mood to sit still with Mommy as she tried to color hearts with crayons so we said goodbye to my friends and left the library. Then it was off to the grocery store. I was an angel. Then back home to unload the groceries and eat lunch with Daddy. Mommy left to get Aidan from school as I stayed at home with Daddy. I was so ready for a nap that I fell asleep in my highchair! Daddy moved me to my crib. I played with Aidan a little while longer until Aunt Lynn came and got him. Then I showed Daddy my music cube and ate pasta for dinner. Mommy said I am just like Daddy.
I played on my own and ended up getting stuck in my racetrack. I still don't get why it doesn't spin me.
Then I napped. I love my pillow Ms. Dana made me and I still love my blanket. I am becoming more and more attached to it and would take it everywhere if Mommy let me.
Then it was group time. I grew a lot! I weighed in at 18lbs 1oz (almost half a pound more than last week). It must be all the big people food I am eating. I was a busy bee today at group. I kept taking things of the shelf in the store. Mommy kept telling me "no" and I would yell at her. We stayed late so Mommy could write down all my weights for last year. We went back home and played with Daddy. He didn't have school today. Mommy and Daddy talked about what they should do with Mommy's car. They decided that it wasn't worth it to fix it and that Daddy should get a work truck and Mommy would take his Saturn. They looked at trucks online while I played until bed.
Feb 10 - I slept in til after 8:30am. Mommy got a good picture of my sleeping in my crib.
The day started with more pancakes. I love them. Then to Sam's house for a playdate. There were lots of kids there. I had a great time with everyone. But it was getting so close to my naptime and Sam's pillows and couch were reminding me just how tired I was. We said goodbye and Mommy put me in the van.
After driving around for a little while I fell asleep. I woke up and Mommy changed me and fed me in the van. We were already parked at the doctor's office. This was my first appointment with Dr. Singh. He was super nice to me. He played with me, gave me a grape flavored stick, and juggled for me and then told Mommy that I was perfectly healthy and I am growing at my own rate and that is ok for him. Mommy thanked him. Then the nurse gave me three shots and I cried. But Mommy picked me up and hugged me and I was all better. We went home and ate. I started to get a little cranky in the evening and was tired really early. Mommy and Daddy put me to bed and told me to feel better.
Feb 11 - Mommy is aware that the day after I get shots is a lot worse than the day of. She thought it best to stay home today and she was right. I got a fever of 102 and was very clingy. I laid in mommy's arms for a long time just content to know that she was right there. That is so not normal of me as I am usually so active. Mommy gave me Tylenol and I felt better and ate a lunchable for lunch. I was so tired from the shots that I took two naps today. I didn't like when Mommy tried to give me the Tylenol but it did make me feel better. I played a little but mostly stayed with Mommy. I finally had enough and went to bed before 8:30pm.
