Peek-a-boo

Jan 28 - This morning Mommy heard me playing with my remote when I woke up. She came and got me. We decided that we were going to take it easy and stay home in the morning. I did a lot of walking around and exploring. Mommy was pleased that I can be so independent sometimes. I would walk down the hallway and hope that any of the doors are open. Then I would walk back and play with the door to the baby gate. Then I would walk over to the sliding glass door and play with the curtains. Its so much fun being able to walk around and Mommy still smiles at me when she looks at me.

I took my nap like a good boy. When I woke up Mommy saw me playing with my blanket. I LOVE my blanket. It is soft and has that nice satin trim around the edge. So instead of picking me out of the crib and leaving my blanket in the crib she wrapped me in the blanket and then picked me up and put me on the changing table. Then she started to change my diaper. But as she did that I took a side of the blanket and threw it over my head. She started to worry and said "Oh, no! I lost Nicky. Where did he go?" Then I threw it back down and gave her a smile. She exclaimed, "There he is! Peek-a-boo!" I giggled and threw the blanket over my head again. We must have done this a million times. I must be good at hiding because she never could find me.

After lunch Mommy said we had to go to the store to get James a birthday present. His party is tomorrow. We got in the car and went to WalMart. It was cold outside and Mommy had me wear my Caps hat while we were out. I try to take it off almost every time she puts it on. She tells me that if I don't want to wear a hat to hurry up and grow some hair. I'm trying. We get in the store and she puts me in the cart. I start to play with my hat as Mommy was looking at cake decorating supplies. Then we went to the toy section and found a weebles bus and a couple extra weebles for James. Since we had missed Sam's party because of the stomach bug Mommy thought we should get him a present too. We got him some little trucks because Ms. Erin says he likes them. Then we went to the baby section and got a few little things for me. I was so ready to go. We got to the check out line and Mommy realized we didn't get cards or wrapping paper but she said forget it. Then we walked out to the car. As Mommy was putting the stuff in the car she couldn't find my hat. She looked at me and said "Oh, no! You didn't?" Mommy really loves that hat because it is so cute, gets tons of compliments, is reversable (one side red, one side blue), and was $20 bucks! So she grabbed me and we went back inside the store hoping for a miracle. We went back to the cake decorating supplies first. She didn't see it on the floor and almost didn't go down the aisle because their were people there but she decided to anyway and there was my hat, sitting on the shelf. Mommy was so happy and put it back on my head. Since we were back inside we grabbed a couple of cards and wrapping paper and went through the line again.

Once we got home, I hung out with Daddy while Mommy wrapped the presents for James and Sam. I really wanted to play with Mommy but she was busy. Daddy had made screw pasta for dinner and Mommy said it was ok for me to try some of the dry stuff. I did and I liked it. We watched the All Star draft together until it was time for me to go to sleep.
